Evaluate current organization preparedness for an emergency and define areas for improvement.

Prepare a comprehensive emergency operation plan for the organization, which includes the following factors, analyses, and contingency plans.

Meet with local groups and organizations to involve them in the emergency operations plan. Coordinate how shared resources would be used in an emergency situation and update the emergency operations plan accordingly.

Note that many different organizations may be interested in participating in an emergency operations plan, including

• Churches

• Private organizations

• HOA

• Educational institutions

Share emergency operations plan with emergency services and establish organization coordination contingency plan.

Identify possible shelter locations (e.g. community buildings, schools, churches, etc.) and work with local officials to put in place emergency shelter plans and contingencies.

Create a plan for how organization members could be involved in disaster-specific recovery efforts.

Provide training for individuals within the organization; services include providing emergency preparedness seminars, procuring 72-hour kits or emergency supplies, food/water storage procurement and training, etc. (see separate list of services for individuals and families).

Serve as consultant for questions or organization-specific needs related to emergency preparedness.
